[texts]Control Monitor: A Mathematical Model based Computer System to assist the Control of Insulin Dependent Diabetes - Michael Hill
PhD Thesis Control Monitor is a Decision Support System for insulin dose adjustment and blood glucose level optimization in Type 1 Diabetes. It could be described as a Virtual Continuous Glucose Monitor, as it provides the same type of information produced by a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) system. However, it was able to provide this function two decades before CGM systems became available for use by insulin dependent diabetes patients.

[audio]Yi-Tan Tech Community Call 221 - Social Media in Health Care (Summary Version) - Jerry Michalski, Pip Coburn
The Net has turbocharged the field of medical informatics. Social media offer some of the most interesting opportunities to make a difference. Already, patients are sharing data on chronic diseases at PatientsLikeMe, people support one another on DailyStrength.org and WeAre.Us, and they're playing games for health like GoCrossCampus. That's a good start. With Ted Eytan, fresh from a BarCamp called HealthCampDc (read the Tweets), let's discuss: * How might social media help? Whom? In what ways? *...
